Product Update
RealityExtract 2.8: External Camera Support
RealityExtract 2.8 brings external camera support and several accuracy improvements.
New Features:
- External Camera Support: Connect an HTTP-based external camera such as an ESP32-CAM to your device. The app displays a live preview thumbnail and a connection status indicator, letting you monitor displays remotely without dedicating your phone to the task.
- LED Calibration Fallback: When LCD or LED value digits aren’t detected during calibration, the app now automatically retries with LED preprocessing — no manual intervention needed.
Improvements:
- Better OCR Accuracy: The value crop region no longer includes tag markers, eliminating misreads. Multi-box detection now tries all detected text boxes instead of just the largest, catching values that were previously missed.
- Faster Calibration: The calibration process has been reduced from 10 frames to 5 frames at 1-second intervals, cutting calibration time in half.
- Fixed Double Readings: Resolved an issue where the external camera would save duplicate readings in a single capture cycle.
- Project List Loading: The project list now shows a loading spinner while syncing instead of briefly flashing "No projects."
Available on iOS and Android.
